David Gilbert writes that “though the organization claims that Return to the Land is nothing more than a peaceful settlement of like-minded people, the online histories of the group’s leaders tell a different story. Members have espoused virulently racist and antisemitic views and repeatedly praised Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party. One of the leaders says he is currently under criminal investigation in Ecuador. Orwoll himself has spoken about the coming of a second Hitler and praised KKK leader David Duke. He is also closely aligned to an international network of far-right influencers, extremists, and white supremacists, including Thomas Sewell, a neo-Nazi living in Australia who was the founder of a group that influenced the Christchurch shooter. Despite this, the Return to the Land community has been lauded by far-right influencers and has already raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations.” [Wired]
Matt Shuham writes that “the Trump administration has claimed that those who ‘self-deport’ now will get the chance to reenter the U.S. later. (‘Self-deport’ is not a legal term; two Mexican American satirists invented it over 30 years ago.) But leaving the country without following specific legal procedures could make it far more difficult to return ― and the administration has consistently failed to inform people in immigration proceedings of crucial details that could affect their future cases. Meanwhile, the administration has filled airwaves with advertisements urging people to leave the country, plastered jails and courtrooms with misleading information, cut funding for legal aid programs, announced steep penalties for not leaving the country after receiving a removal order, revived a World War II-era law threatening criminal prosecution unless people who aren’t citizens register with the government, and massively ramped up efforts to arrest and jail people during the course of their proceedings. Brandy Zadrozny writes that “in the weeks since, Trump has openly attempted to redirect the national conversation, insisting people focus instead on flooding in Texas, or America’s success, or most recently, the revival of a familiar conspiracy theory: that Obama and the intelligence community framed Russia for interfering in the 2016 election all in an effort to undermine Trump’s presidency… The Russiagate rollout has been a slow burn. The drip-drip-drip timing of the releases has helped sustain MAGA attention — and keep it off of Epstein. After her initial claim on July 18 came the release of a declassified 5-year-old Republican House Intelligence Committee report on July 23, a whistleblower twist on July 30, the release of a formerly classified annex on July 31, and finally, reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi had launched a grand jury investigation based on Gabbard’s reports, targeting not just Obama, but also his former directors of national intelligence, the CIA and the FBI.” [NBC News]

So Charlie Kirk is advocating for militarized America? What an incredibly stupid idea! Militarizing our country is just another nail in the coffin of our democracy! We don’t need more law enforcement, especially in the hands of a lawless creep felon!
