Pro-Trump Group Plans Protests in Support of Capitol Insurrectionists
Look Ahead America, a right-wing pro-Trump group, is organizing protests and ‘satellite rallies around the country,’ and is the organizing force behind #FreePoliticalPrisoners.
Look Ahead America, a nonprofit organization that claims to be “standing up for patriotic Americans who have been forgotten by our government,” is promoting a series of events around the country that call for the release of individuals arrested for participation in the January 6th Capitol Insurrection.
The organization has not publicly disclosed any financial information, such as the group’s revenue or expenditures. Look Ahead America was formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2017, however, the organization is currently on the IRS auto-revocation list for a failure to file 990, 990-EZ, 990-N, or 990-PF forms for three consecutive years.
(The group claims the organization’s tax status will be resolved this month.)
The organization’s state legislative policy objectives include thumbprint authentication of absentee ballots, a ban on the use of so-called “black box” voting equipment, the creation of citizen election supervisory committees, and the establishment and funding of dedicated voter fraud investigation divisions within state attorneys general offices.
Matt Braynard, executive director of Look Ahead America, is the former director of data and strategy for the Trump Campaign, and among those leading an campaign to find evidence to substantiate the former President’s fraudulent claims about voter fraud during the 2020 election. Witold Chrabaszcz, strategic director of Look Ahead America, is the former director of the data division for the Trump campaign.
Beyond Braynard and Chrabaszcz, the organization does not disclose the names of any other leaders, and only states that the organization’s board of advisors includes “nearly forty former Trump for President Campaign staffers and serves as a bullpen for field staff, consultants, and organizational leadership.”
Look Ahead America’s corporate filings disclose two additional names: Thomas Datwyler, a political operative that has served as treasurer for dozens of campaigns and political action committees, and Stephen Saroki, an analyst at Equinox Partners.
Equinox Partners, the New York City-based hedge fund, is owned by Sean Fieler, the wealthy right-wing conservative that has made numerous campaign contributions to Republican candidates and political action committees, and has bankrolled several right-wing organizations through the Chiaroscuro Foundation.
Braynard has promoted the campaign and rallies during interviews with influential right-wing media figures such as Steve Bannon and Alex Jones. The main protests will take place on Saturday, July 17 at 12:00pm EDT in Washington, D.C. at the Department Of Corrections Central Detention Facility.
